# CS294 Ground Fault Interrupter Controller IC

## Description

The CS294 is an AC outlet ground fault interrupter controller IC designed to detect hazardous grounding conditions and open circuits before a dangerous shock can occur. It includes an operational amplifier, SCR driver, and zener shunt regulator. External components needed are two sense coils, a bridge rectifier, a relay, and an SCR. It protects against both hot wire to ground and neutral wire to ground faults.

## Pin Descriptions

· VFB: Inverting input to operational amplifier
· Filter: Non-inverting input to operational amplifier
· Signal Common: Connected to +V S/2 and connects to resistors.
· Gnd: Power return terminal
· SCR Trigger: Drives the silicon controlled rectifier
· +VS: Power input to the IC
· Amp OUT: Output of operational amplifier
· Detect: Detects electrical conditions.
