Entering the IDLE0 Mode
ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE0Modeandthatistoexecutethe"HALT"
instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeFHIDENbitinSCCregisterequalto"0"andthe
FSIDENbitinSCCregisterequalto"1".Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditions
describedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:
• ThefHclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe"HALT"instruction,but
thefSUBclockwillbeon.
• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.
• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.
• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe
cleared.
• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTfunctionisalwaysenabled.

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE0Modeandthatistoexecutethe"HALT"
instructionintheapplicationprogramwithboththeFHIDENandFSIDENbitsintheSCCregister
equalto"1".Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditionsdescribedabove,thefollowing
willoccur:
• ThefHandfSUBclockswillbeonandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe"HALT"instruction.
• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.
• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.
• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe
cleared.
• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTfunctionisalwaysenabled.

ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheIDLE2Modeandthatistoexecutethe"HALT"
instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeFHIDENbitintheSCCregisterequalto"1"andthe
FSIDENbitintheSCCregisterequalto"0".Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditions
describedabove,thefollowingwilloccur:
