AS3956 − Detailed Description

The data bits b1 to b8 are mapped to buffer data bits D0 to D7,

which means that the order of receiving/transmitting bits in a

byte is reversed (the bytes are sent LSB first while the SPI / I²C

bytes are sent MSB first).

Direct Commands

The direct command consist of command byte and status byte

returned by the AS3956 (the command sequence depends on

the interface type). The command execution is initiated at the

end of the command byte. The execution of the command is

not cancelled if the command sequence is interrupted while

reading status byte.

Set Default

This direct command puts the AS3956 in the same state as

power-up initialization except for I²C bit in register IC Status

Display Register that defines the interface and IO Configuration

Clear Buffer

Clears buffer, buffer overflow and underflow bits.
