The temperature sensor is internally connected to the ADC input channels that are used to convert the sensor output voltage to a digital value. When not in use, the sensor can be put in power-down mode. It supports the temperature range –40 to 110°C. The temperature sensor output voltage changes linearly with temperature. The offset of this line varies from chip to chip due to process variation (up to 45°C from one chip to another). The uncalibrated internal temperature sensor is more suited for applications that detect temperature variations instead of absolute temperatures. To improve the accuracy of the temperature sensor measurement, each device is individually factory-calibrated by ST. The temperature sensor factory calibration data are stored by STMicroelectronics in the system memory area, accessible in read-only mode. Table 10. The VREFINT is internally connected to ADC1 and ADC2 input channels. The precise voltage of VREFINT is individually measured for each part by STMicroelectronics during production test and stored in the system memory area. It is accessible in read-only mode.
