Capture Input Mode

ToselectthismodebitsSTnM1andSTnM0intheSTMnC1registershouldbesetto01respectively.

Thismodeenablesexternalsignalstocaptureandstorethepresentvalueoftheinternalcounter

andcanthereforebeusedforapplicationssuchaspulsewidthmeasurements.Theexternalsignal

issuppliedontheSTPnIpin,whoseactiveedgecanbearisingedge,afallingedgeorbothrising

andfallingedges;theactiveedgetransitiontypeisselectedusingtheSTnIO1andSTnIO0bitsin

theSTMnC1register.ThecounterisstartedwhentheSTnONbitchangesfromlowtohighwhichis

initiatedusingtheapplicationprogram.

WhentherequirededgetransitionappearsontheSTPnIpinthepresentvalueinthecounterwillbe

latchedintotheCCRAregistersandaSTMninterruptgenerated.Irrespectiveofwhateventsoccur

ontheSTPnIpinthecounterwillcontinuetofreerununtiltheSTnONbitchangesfromhighto

low.WhenaCCRPcomparematchoccursthecounterwillresetbacktozero;inthiswaytheCCRP

valuecanbeusedtocontrolthemaximumcountervalue.WhenaCCRPcomparematchoccursfrom

ComparatorP,aSTMninterruptwillalsobegenerated.Countingthenumberofoverflowinterrupt

signalsfromtheCCRPcanbeausefulmethodinmeasuringlongpulsewidths.TheSTnIO1and

STnIO0bitscanselecttheactivetriggeredgeontheSTPnIpintobearisingedge,fallingedgeor

bothedgetypes.IftheSTnIO1andSTnIO0bitsarebothsethigh,thennocaptureoperationwill

takeplaceirrespectiveofwhathappensontheSTPnIpin,howeveritmustbenotedthatthecounter

willcontinuetorun.TheSTnCCLRandSTnDPXbitsarenotusedinthisMode.
