 Description
The DIO8834/5 are integrated thermoelectric cooler
controllers (TEC) with built-in internal power
MOSFETs. The DIO8834/5 can reach 1.5/3 A of
continuous output current from a 2.7 V to 5.5 V input
voltage range. The TEC voltage is linearly controlled
by chopper amplifier output voltage.
The DIO8834/5 have a linear power stage, a
pulse-width modulation (PWM) power stage, and two
zero-drift, rail-to-rail chopper amplifiers.
By measuring the thermal sensor feedback voltage
and using the integrated operational amplifiers as a
proportional integral differential (PID) compensator
to condition the signal, the DIO8834/5 drive current
through a TEC to set the temperature of a laser
diode attached to the TEC module to the
programmed target temperature.
