As visible from Figure 8 the driving network must guarantee a zone with fixed IC/IB. This is
imposed by the transformer turn ratio. From the characteristic of the chosen transistor
(STC03DE170), it is recommended a turn ratio equals to 5 in order to ensure the right
saturation level of the transistor that exhibits HFE equal to 5 at IC=1.8A, VCE = 1V, so that in
our current transformer we fix as first approach:
