144 / 171 page  Rev. 1.60 144 �ove��e� ��� �016 HT67F488/HT67F489 TinyPowerTM A/D Flash MCU with LCD & EEPROM Low Voltage Detector – LVD EachdevicehasaLowVoltageDetectorfunction,alsoknownasLVD.Thisenabledthedeviceto monitorthepowersupplyvoltage,VDD,andprovideawarningsignalshoulditfallbelowacertain level.Thisfunctionmaybeespeciallyusefulinbatteryapplicationswherethesupplyvoltagewill graduallyreduceasthebatteryages,asitallowsanearlywarningbatterylowsignaltobegenerated. TheLowVoltageDetectoralsohasthecapabilityofgeneratinganinterruptsignal. LVD Register TheLowVoltageDetectorfunctioniscontrolledusingasingleregisterwiththenameLVDC.Three bitsinthisregister,VLVD2~VLVD0,areusedtoselectoneofeightfixedvoltagesbelowwhich alowvoltageconditionwillbedetermined.AlowvoltageconditionisindicatedwhentheLVDO bitisset.IftheLVDObitislow,thisindicatesthattheVDDvoltageisabovethepresetlowvoltage value.TheLVDENbitisusedtocontroltheoverallon/offfunctionofthelowvoltagedetector. Settingthebithighwillenablethelowvoltagedetector.Clearingthebittozerowillswitchoffthe internallowvoltagedetectorcircuits.Asthelowvoltagedetectorwillconsumeacertainamountof power,itmaybedesirabletoswitchoffthecircuitwhennotinuse,animportantconsiderationin powersensitivebatterypoweredapplications.
