Figure 4-10: Shape-Scan Flow Diagram
Host determines Eye Width and Eye Height by reading from
the following 4 registers:
le = STAT_EYE_SHAPE_LEFT_EDGE_PHASE
re = STAT_EYE_SHAPE_RIGHT_EDGE_PHASE
pe =STAT_EYE_SHAPE_POS_EDGE_OFFSET
ne =STAT_EYE_SHAPE_NEG_EDGE_OFFSET
if pe > ne:
EyeHeight = (256 + ne - pe)
else:
EyeHeight = (ne - pe)
if le > re:
EyeWidtht = (128 + re - le)
else:
EyeWidtht = (re - le)
Host reads scan status from
STAT_EYE_MON_STATUS
Status
1 or 0
Host Resets Eye Scanner for new scan by
setting CTRL_EYE_MON_START = 0
Or power down by setting
CTRL_EYE_MON_POWER_CTRL = 0
3
2
Scan Failed
Reset Eye Scanner
Run Shape Scan
Shape Scan
Complete
Host powers up eye monitor and starts
Shape Scan by setting:
CTRL_EYE_MON_POWER_CTRL = 1
CTRL_EYE_MON_START = 1
Please Note the Following:
- While the Eye Monitor is
powered-up, the Cable Equalizer
input only has partial adaptation
enabled
- Status = STAT_EYE_MON_STATUS
NO
Note: the host can write
CTRL_EYE_MON_POWER_CTRL = 1 and
CTRL_EYE_MON_START = 1 in the
same GSPI write (i.e. at the
same time). It is not necessary to set
the power up first.
Status = 0?
