Wide Input Sensorless CC/CV Step-Down DC/DC Converter

QSPICE® MODEL INFORMATION

Models of the ACT4533A/B are available

for use in Qorvo’s QSPICE® simulator.

Check the Qorvo website (www.qorvo.com) and

search ‘QSPICE’ for a link to download the software.

QSPICE® is a free to use analog and mixed signal sim-

ulation tool that gives power designers the ability to

evaluate their design in the pre-development phase

before creating a schematic and layout for circuit pro-

totyping and evaluation. The simulation tool assists

with product design-in activities upfront to speed the

evaluation process of device performance and make

the process more cost-effective.

QSPICE® provides a workspace for developing and

evaluating the ACT4533A/B models in common appli-

cations like a car charger adapter circuit as shown in

Figure 11. Simulation is a critical tool in streamlining

the pre-verification process which decreases the po-

tential number of design re-spins by allowing evalua-

tion of performance and optimization of the design ear-

lier in the process leading to the opportunity for a

faster product release.

The ACT4533A/B has many potential uses in the

industrial application spaces with a nominal 24Vin like

building automation and factory automation. QSPICE®

allows for quick evaluation of an ACT4533A bucking

down from 24V to 4V as an example for these types of

applications as shown in Figure 12.
