MP9840 – 36V, 3.5A, LOW IQ, SYNC STEP-DOWN CONVERTER

Three events can shut down the chip: EN low,

VIN

low,

and

thermal

shutdown.

In

the

shutdown procedure, the signaling path is

blocked first to avoid any fault triggering. VCOMP

and the internal supply rail are then pulled down.

The floating driver is not subject to this

shutdown command, but its charging path is

disabled.

Power Good (PG) Output

The MP9840 includes an open-drain power

good (PG) output that indicates whether the

regulator output is within ±10% of its nominal

output range. When the output voltage moves

outside of this range, the PG output is pulled to

ground.
