System Clocks ThedevicehasmanydifferentclocksourcesforboththeCPUandperipheralfunctionoperation. Byprovidingtheuserwithawiderangeofclockoptionsusingconfigurationoptionsandregister programming,aclocksystemcanbeconfiguredtoobtainmaximumapplicationperformance. ThemainsystemclockcancomefromahighfrequencyfHorlowfrequencyfLsourceandisselected usingtheHLCLKbitandCKS2~CKS0bitsintheSMODregister.Thehighspeedsystemclockcan besourcedfromeitheraHXTorHIRCoscillator,selectedviaaconfigurationoption.Thelowspeed systemclocksourcecanbesourcedfrominternalclockfL.IffLisselected,thenitcanbesourcedby theLIRCoscillator.Theotherchoice,whichisadividedversionofthehighspeedsystemoscillator hasarangeoffH/2~fH/64.NotethatwhenthesystemclocksourcefSYSisswitchedtofLfromfH, thehighspeedoscillationwillstoptoconservethepower.ThusthereisnofH~fH/64forperipheral circuittouse.
