Figure 3 shows the flow chart of the NiMH charging algorithm.

NiMH battery detection algorithm

If the battery current is below a predefined threshold, the battery voltage is measured. If the

battery voltage is less than a certain threshold (0.9 V/cell for NiMH), the battery is

considered connected, otherwise it is considered to be disconnected from the

demonstration board (see Figure 4).
