Periodic Type TM Operating Modes

ThePeriodicTypeTMcanoperateinoneoffiveoperatingmodes,CompareMatchOutputMode,

PWMOutputMode,SinglePulseOutputMode,CaptureInputModeorTimer/CounterMode.The

operatingmodeisselectedusingthePTM1andPTM0bitsinthePTMC1register.

Compare Output Mode

Toselectthismode,bitsPTM1andPTM0inthePTMC1register,shouldbesetto00respectively.

Inthismodeoncethecounterisenabledandrunningitcanbeclearedbythreemethods.Theseare

acounteroverflow,acomparematchfromComparatorAandacomparematchfromComparatorP.

WhenthePTCCLRbitislow,therearetwowaysinwhichthecountercanbecleared.Oneiswhen

acomparematchfromComparatorP,theotheriswhentheCCRPbitsareallzerowhichallowsthe

countertooverflow.HerebothPTMAFandPTMPFinterruptrequestflagsforComparatorAand

ComparatorPrespectively,willbothbegenerated.

IfthePTCCLRbitinthePTMC1registerishighthenthecounterwillbeclearedwhenacompare

matchoccursfromComparatorA.However,hereonlythePTMAFinterruptrequestflagwillbe

generatedevenifthevalueoftheCCRPbitsislessthanthatoftheCCRAregisters.Thereforewhen

PTCCLRishighnoPTMPFinterruptrequestflagwillbegenerated.IntheCompareMatchOutput

Mode,theCCRAcannotbesetto"0".

Asthenameofthemodesuggests,afteracomparisonismade,theTMoutputpin,willchangestate.

TheTMoutputpinconditionhoweveronlychangesstatewhenaPTMAFinterruptrequestflagis

generatedafteracomparematchoccursfromComparatorA.ThePTMPFinterruptrequestflag,

generatedfromacomparematchoccursfromComparatorP,willhavenoeffectontheTMoutput

pin.ThewayinwhichtheTMoutputpinchangesstatearedeterminedbytheconditionofthe

PTIO1andPTIO0bitsinthePTMC1register.TheTMoutputpincanbeselectedusingthePTIO1

andPTIO0bitstogohigh,togolowortotogglefromitspresentconditionwhenacomparematch

occursfromComparatorA.TheinitialconditionoftheTMoutputpin,whichissetupafterthe

PTONbitchangesfromlowtohigh,issetupusingthePTOCbit.NotethatifthePTIO1andPTIO0

bitsarezerothennopinchangewilltakeplace.
