When a fault is triggered, the corresponding fault status register is set, and the

ALERT pin will be asserted. The

12-bit temperature reading for the corresponding channel is 0000 0000 0000. When the channel fault is detected,

the corresponding channel’s Low Limit will not be checked.

A short between DP and DN or a short between DP and GND is indistinguishable from a temperature

measurement of 0°C in default range or -64°C in extended range.

9.5. Dynamic averaging

The DIA1412 has a configurable dynamic averaging feature. Enabling this function can minimize the

temperature errors by extending the measuring time. At low conversion rates, disabling the dynamic averaging

function can reduce the power consumption.

9.6. Conversion rates

Users can configure conversion rates for temperature measurements. The following table shows the conversion

rate and the corresponding averaging factor.

9.7. Reporting temperature

The temperature read by the DIA1412 is presented in 12-bit binary format with a temperature resolution of

0.0625°C. The default temperature range is 0°C ~ 127.9375°C and the extended temperature range is -64°C ~

191.9375°C (see table 4).

In the default temperature range, the temperature values below 0°C are reported as 0°C, and the temperature

values above 127.9375°C are reported as 127.9375°C.

In the extended temperature range, temperatures below -64°C are reported as -64°C and temperatures above

191.9375°C are reported as 191.9375°C.
