TheselectionoftherequiredclocksourceisimplementedusingtheTnCK2~TnCK0bitsintheTM controlregisters.TheclocksourcecanbearatioofthesystemclockfSYSortheinternalhighclock fH,thefTBCclocksourceortheexternalTCKnpin.Notethatsettingthesebitstothevalue101will selectareservedclockinput,ineffectdisconnectingtheTMclocksource.TheTCKnpinclock sourceisusedtoallowanexternalsignaltodrivetheTMasanexternalclocksourceorforevent counting. TM Interrupts TheCompactType,StandardTypeandPeriodicTypeTMseachhavetwointernalinterrupts,onefor eachoftheinternalcomparatorAorcomparatorP,whichgenerateaTMinterruptwhenacompare matchconditionoccurs.WhenaTMinterruptisgenerateditcanbeusedtoclearthecounterand alsotochangethestateoftheTMoutputpin. TM External Pins EachoftheTMs,irrespectiveofwhattype,hasoneTMinputpin,withthelabelTCKn.TheTM inputpinisessentiallyaclocksourcefortheTMandisselectedusingtheTnCK2~TnCK0bitsin theTMnC0register.ThisexternalTMinputpinallowsanexternalclocksourcetodrivetheinternal TM.ThisexternalTMinputpinissharedwithotherfunctionsbutwillbeconnectedtotheinternal TMifselectedusingtheTnCK2~TnCK0bits.TheTMinputpincanbechosentohaveeithera risingorfallingactiveedge. TheTMseachhaveoneoutputpinwiththelabelTPn.WhentheTMisintheCompareMatch OutputMode,thesepinscanbecontrolledbytheTMtoswitchtoahighorlowlevelortotoggle whenacomparematchsituationoccurs.TheexternalTPnoutputpinisalsothepinwherethe TMgeneratesthePWMoutputwaveform.TheTPnpinactsasaninputwhentheTMissetupto operateintheCaptureInputMode.AstheTPnpinsarepin-sharedwithotherfunctions,theTPn pinfunctionisenabledordisabledaccordingtotheinternalTMon/offcontrol,operationmodeand outputcontrolsettings.WhenthecorrespondingTMconfigurationselectstheTPnpintobeusedas anoutputpin,theassociatedpinwillbesetupasanexternalTMoutputpin.IftheTMconfiguration selectstheTPnpintobesetupasaninputpin,theinputsignalsuppliedontheassociatedpincan bederivedfromanexternalsignalandotherpin-sharedoutputfunction.IftheTMconfiguration determinesthattheTPnpinfunctionisnotused,theassociatedpinwillbecontrolledbyother pin-sharedfunctions.ThedetailsoftheTPnpinforeachTMtypeanddeviceareprovidedinthe accompanyingtable.
