68 / 278 page ![]() Functional overview STM32U535xx 68/278 DS14217 Rev 1 The TSC is fully supported by the STMTouch touch sensing firmware library that is free to use and allows touch sensing functionality to be implemented reliably in the end application. The TSC main features are the following: • Proven and robust surface charge transfer acquisition principle • Supports up to 20 capacitive sensing channels • Up to eight capacitive sensing channels can be acquired in parallel offering a very good response time • Spread spectrum feature to improve system robustness in noisy environments • Full hardware management of the charge transfer acquisition sequence • Programmable charge transfer frequency • Programmable sampling capacitor I/O pin • Programmable channel I/O pin • Programmable max count value to avoid long acquisition when a channel is faulty • Dedicated end of acquisition and max count error flags with interrupt capability • One sampling capacitor for up to three capacitive sensing channels to reduce the system components • Compatible with proximity, touchkey, linear and rotary touch sensor implementation • Designed to operate with STMTouch touch sensing firmware library Note: The number of capacitive sensing channels is dependent on the size of the packages and subject to I/O availability. 3.34 True random number generator (RNG) The RNG is a true random number generator that provides full entropy outputs to the application as 32-bit samples. It is composed of a live entropy source (analog) and an internal conditioning component. The RNG is a NIST SP 800-90B compliant entropy source that can be used to construct a non-deterministic random bit generator (NDRBG). The true random generator: • delivers 32-bit true random numbers, produced by an analog entropy source conditioned by a NIST SP800-90B approved conditioning stage • can be used as entropy source to construct a non-deterministic random bit generator (NDRBG) • produces four 32-bit random samples every 412 AHB clock cycles if fAHB < 77 MHz (256 RNG clock cycles otherwise) • embeds startup and NIST SP800-90B approved continuous health tests (repetition count and adaptive proportion tests), associated with specific error management • can be disabled to reduce power consumption, or enabled with an automatic low-power mode (default configuration) • has an AMBA AHB slave peripheral, accessible through 32-bit word single accesses only (else an AHB bus error is generated, and the write accesses are ignored) |
