Current waveform at 50 Hz In the waveforms in Section 6.1 through Section 6.3, the signals were shown at PWM frequency. Now, if we keep the system working and increase the scope time scale to observe a 50 Hz frequency, the shape of the current delivered to the plate is different. As shown in Figure 15, in phase with the mains, the current peak changes following the 50 Hz frequency, while the current switching frequency runs at the PWM frequency. The result is a double wave with a 100 ampere peak-to-peak current (20 ampere per division). With a 22 cm-diameter iron pot on the plate, the system delivers about 2500 watts. |
