Thehigherfrequencyoscillatorsprovidehigherperformancebutcarrywithitthedisadvantageof higherpowerrequirements,whiletheoppositeisofcoursetrueforthelowerfrequencyoscillators. Withthecapabilityofdynamicallyswitchingbetweenfastandslowsystemclock,thedevicehasthe flexibilitytooptimizetheperformance/powerratio,afeatureespeciallyimportantinpowersensitive portableapplications.
