Whenaninterruptisgenerated,theProgramCounter,whichstorestheaddressofthenextinstruction tobeexecuted,willbetransferredontothestack.TheProgramCounterwillthenbeloadedwitha newaddresswhichwillbethevalueofthecorrespondinginterruptvector.Themicrocontrollerwill thenfetchitsnextinstructionfromthisinterruptvector.Theinstructionatthisvectorwillusually beaJMPwhichwilljumptoanothersectionofprogramwhichisknownastheinterruptservice routine.Hereislocatedthecodetocontroltheappropriateinterrupt.Theinterruptserviceroutine mustbeterminatedwithaRETI,whichretrievestheoriginalProgramCounteraddressfromthe stackandallowsthemicrocontrollertocontinuewithnormalexecutionatthepointwherethe interruptoccurred. |
