Important Points to Note for Flash Memory Write Operations

1.The“FlashMemoryErase/WriteFunctionEnableProcedure”mustbesuccessfullyactivated

beforetheFlashMemoryerase/writeoperationisexecuted.

2.TheFlashMemoryeraseoperationisexecutedtoeraseawholepage.

3.Thewholewritebufferdatawillbewrittenintotheflashmemoryinapageformat.The

correspondingaddresscannotexceedthepageboundary.

4.Afterthedataiswrittenintotheflashmemorytheflashmemorycontentsmustbereadoutusing

thetablereadinstruction,TABRD,andcheckedifitiscorrectornot.Ifthedatawrittenintothe

flashmemoryisincorrect,thewritebuffershouldbeclearedbysettingtheCLWBbithighand

thenwritingthedataagainintothewritebuffer.Thenactivateawriteoperationonthesameflash

memorypagewithouterasingit.Thedatacheck,bufferclearanddatare-writestepsshouldbe

repeatedlyexecuteduntilthedatawrittenintotheflashmemoryiscorrect.

5.Thesystemfrequencyshouldbesetuptothemaximumapplicationfrequencywhendatawriteand

datacheckoperationsareexecutedusingtheIAPfunction.

Flash Memory Read Procedure

ToactivatetheFlashMemoryReadprocedure,theFMODfieldshouldbesetto“011”toselect

theflashmemoryreadmodeandtheFRDENbitshouldbesethightoenablethereadfunction.

ThedesiredflashmemoryaddressshouldbewrittenintotheFARHandFARLregistersandthen

theFRDbitshouldbesethigh.Afterthistheflashmemoryreadoperationwillbeactivated.The

datastoredinthespecifiedaddresscanbereadfromthedataregisters,FD0HandFD0L,whenthe

FRDbitgoeslow.ThereisnoneedtofirstactivatetheFlashMemoryErase/WriteFunctionEnable

Procedurebeforetheflashmemoryreadoperationisexecuted.
