Flash Memory Non-Consecutive Write Description

ThemaindifferencebetweenFlashMemoryConsecutiveandNon-ConsecutiveWriteoperations

iswhetherthedatawordstobewrittenarelocatedinconsecutiveaddressesornot.Ifthedatatobe

writtenisnotlocatedinconsecutiveaddressesthedesiredaddressshouldbere-assignedafteradata

wordissuccessfullywrittenintotheFlashMemory.

Atwodatawordnon-consecutivewriteoperationistakenasanexamplehereanddescribedas

follows:

1.Activatethe“FlashMemoryErase/Writefunctionenableprocedure”.ChecktheCFWENbit

valueandthenexecutetheerase/writeoperationiftheCFWENbitissethigh.Refertothe“Flash

MemoryErase/Writefunctionenableprocedure”formoredetails.

2.SettheFMODfieldto“001”toselecttheeraseoperation.SettheFWTbithightoerasethe

desiredpagewhichisspecifiedbytheFARHandFARLregisters.WaituntiltheFWTbitgoes

low.

3.ExecuteaBlankCheckoperationusingthetablereadinstructiontoensurethattheeraseoperation

hassuccessfullycompleted.

Gotostep2iftheeraseoperationisnotsuccessful.

Gotostep4iftheeraseoperationissuccessful.

4.SettheFMODfieldto“000”toselectthewriteoperation.

5.SetupthedesiredaddressADDR1intheFARHandFRARLregisters.Writethedesireddataword

DATA1firstintotheFD0LregisterandthenintotheFD0Hregister.

6.SettheFWTbithightotransferthedatawordfromthewritebuffertotheflashmemory.Wait

untiltheFWTbitgoeslow.

7.Verifythedatausingthetablereadinstructiontoensurethatthewriteoperationhassuccessfully

completed.

Ifthewriteoperationhasnotsuccessfullycompleted,settheCLWBbithightoclearthewrite

bufferandthengotostep5.

Gotostep8ifthewriteoperationissuccessful.

8.SetupthedesiredaddressADDR2intheFARHandFRARLregisters.Writethedesireddataword

DATA2firstintotheFD0LregisterandthenintotheFD0Hregister.

9.SettheFWTbithightotransferthedatawordfromthewritebuffertotheflashmemory.Wait

untiltheFWTbitgoeslow.

10.Verifythedatausingthetablereadinstructiontoensurethatthewriteoperationhassuccessfully

completed.

Ifthewriteoperationhasnotsuccessfullycompleted,settheCLWBbithightoclearthewrite

bufferandthengotostep8.

Gotostep11ifthewriteoperationissuccessful.

11.CleartheCFWENbitlowtodisabletheFlashmemoryerase/writefunction.
