4.9.6

SPI communication mode (Parallel and Daisy chain mode)

The SPI communication between one master and multiple slaves can be operated in

parallel or in daisy chain.

Parallel operation: several SPI-slaves can be connected to one SPI channel. The

communication lines SDI, SDO and CLK are shared, and every slave has its own chip select

line (NCS).

Daisy chain operation: several L9960 can be connected to one SPI connection in daisy

chain operation to save µC interface pins. The number of devices connected in daisy chain

is unlimited.

Software constraint: daisy chain is only possibly for ASICs using the same SPI protocol.
