Structure

Dividedintotwosections,thefirstoftheseisanareaofRAM,knownastheSpecialFunctionData

Memory.Herearelocatedregisterswhicharenecessaryforcorrectoperationofthedevice.Many

oftheseregisterscanbereadfromandwrittentodirectlyunderprogramcontrol,however,some

remainprotectedfromusermanipulation.

ThesecondareaofDataMemoryisknownastheGeneralPurposeDataMemory,whichisreserved

forgeneralpurposeuse.Alllocationswithinthisareaarereadandwriteaccessibleunderprogram

control.

TheRAMDataMemoryissubdividedinto2banks,knownasbank0andbank1,TheSpecial

PurposeDataMemoryregistersareaccessibleinallbanks,withtheexceptionoftheEECTRL

registerataddress40H,whichisonlyaccessibleinBank1.SwitchingbetweenthedifferentData

MemorybanksisachievedbysettingtheBankPointertothecorrectvalue.Thestartaddressofthe

DataMemoryistheaddress00H.
