29 / 104 page  Rev. 0.00 �8 �e�te��e� ��� �01� Rev. 0.00 �9 �e�te��e� ��� �01� HT45F12 8-Bit Flash MCU with Op Amps & Comparators HT45F12 8-Bit Flash MCU with Op Amps & Comparators EEPROM Data Memory OneofthespecialfeaturesinthedeviceisitsinternalEEPROMDataMemory.EEPROM,which standsforElectricallyErasableProgrammableReadOnlyMemory,isbyitsnatureanon-volatile formofmemory,withdataretentionevenwhenitspowersupplyisremoved.Byincorporating thiskindofdatamemory,awholenewhostofapplicationpossibilitiesaremadeavailabletothe designer.TheavailabilityofEEPROMstorageallowsinformationsuchasproductidentification numbers,calibrationvalues,specificuserdata,systemsetupdataorotherproductinformationto bestoreddirectlywithintheproductmicrocontroller.Theprocessofreadingandwritingdatatothe EEPROMmemoryhasbeenreducedtoaverytrivialaffair. EEPROM Data Memory Structure TheEEPROMDataMemorycapacityis32×8bits.UnliketheProgramMemoryandRAMData Memory,theEEPROMDataMemoryisnotdirectlymappedandisthereforenotdirectlyaccessible insamewayastheothertypesofmemory.ReadandWriteoperationstotheEEPROMarecarried outinsinglebyteoperationsusinganaddressanddataregisterinBank0andasinglecontrol registerinBank1. EEPROM Registers ThreeregisterscontroltheoveralloperationoftheinternalEEPROMDataMemory.Thesearethe addressregister,EEADDR,thedataregister,EEDATAandasinglecontrolregister,EECTRL.As boththeEEADDRandEEDATAregistersarelocatedinBank0,theycanbedirectlyaccessedinthe samewayasanyotherSpecialFunctionRegister.TheEECTRLregisterhowever,beinglocatedin Bank1,cannotbedirectlyaddresseddirectlyandcanonlybereadfromorwrittentoindirectlyusing theMP1MemoryPointerandIndirectAddressingRegister,IAR1.BecausetheEECTRLcontrol registerislocatedataddress40HinBank1,theMP1MemoryPointermustfirstbesettothevalue 40HandtheBankPointerregister,BP,settothevalue,01H,beforeanyoperationsontheEECTRL registerareexecuted.
