In the first frame the RD command is sent. In the second frame the output at SPI signal SO will contain the requested information. A new command can be executed in the second frame. 12.2.3.3 16- and 2x8-bit protocol mixed The 16-bit and 2x8-bit protocols are mixed according the used commands (see Chapter 12.3.1). Special care should be taken,changing from the 16-bit protocol to the 2x8-bit protocol. In this case, it is important to send a NOP command to S_SI. Otherwise, by sending instead a Command, a collision between the S_SO data in the following frame and the Lower Byte of the 2x8-bit protocol will happen (see Chapter 12.2.3.2).
