Wake-up output 9.3 Freefall This feature is used to detect when a system is dropping down just to protect data on the hard drive. If the object is in freefall, the X-axis, Y-axis and Z-axis have zero acceleration. To implement this function, the first state of the State Machine (ST0_1, 40h) has an NOP in the RESET condition and “all axes less than or equal to threshold2” (LLTH2) in the NEXT condition. An additional state (ST1_1, 41h) checks whether the axes remain under the previous condition for 100 ms by using a GNTH2 command in the RESET condition and a T1 command in the NEXT condition. In this way the freefall is detected only when all three axes are below the threshold for at least 100 ms. AM14784V1 |
