Multi-function Interrupt

WithinthesedevicestherearetwoMulti-functioninterrupts.Unliketheotherindependentinterrupts,

theseinterruptshavenoindependentsource,butratherareformedfromotherexistinginterrupt

sources,namelytheTMInterrupts.

AMulti-functioninterruptrequestwilltakeplacewhenanyoftheMulti-functioninterruptrequest

flags,MFnFareset.TheMulti-functioninterruptflagswillbesetwhenanyoftheirincluded

functionsgenerateaninterruptrequestflag.Toallowtheprogramtobranchtoitsrespectiveinterrupt

vectoraddress,whentheMulti-functioninterruptisenabledandthestackisnotfull,andeitherone

oftheinterruptscontainedwithineachofMulti-functioninterruptoccurs,asubroutinecalltooneof

theMulti-functioninterruptvectorswilltakeplace.Whentheinterruptisserviced,therelatedMulti-

Functionrequestflag,willbeautomaticallyresetandtheEMIbitwillbeautomaticallyclearedto

disableotherinterrupts.

However,itmustbenotedthat,althoughtheMulti-functionInterruptflagswillbeautomatically

resetwhentheinterruptisserviced,therequestflagsfromtheoriginalsourceoftheMulti-function

interrupts,namelytheTMInterrupts,willnotbeautomaticallyresetandmustbemanuallyresetby

theapplicationprogram.

Time Base Interrupts

ThefunctionoftheTimeBaseInterruptsistoprovideregulartimesignalintheformofaninternal

interrupt.Theyarecontrolledbytheoverflowsignalsfromtheirrespectivetimerfunctions.When

thesehappenstheirrespectiveinterruptrequestflags,TB0ForTB1Fwillbeset.Toallowthe

programtobranchtotheirrespectiveinterruptvectoraddresses,theglobalinterruptenablebit,EMI

andTimeBaseenablebits,TB0EorTB1E,mustfirstbeset.Whentheinterruptisenabled,thestack

isnotfullandtheTimeBaseoverflows,asubroutinecalltotheirrespectivevectorlocationswill

takeplace.Whentheinterruptisserviced,therespectiveinterruptrequestflag,TB0ForTB1F,will

beautomaticallyresetandtheEMIbitwillbeclearedtodisableotherinterrupts.

ThepurposeoftheTimeBaseInterruptistoprovideaninterruptsignalatfixedtimeperiods.Their

clocksourcesoriginatefromtheinternalclocksourcefTB.ThisfTBinputclockpassesthrougha

divider,thedivisionratioofwhichisselectedbyprogrammingtheappropriatebitsintheTBC

registertoobtainlongerinterruptperiodswhosevalueranges.TheclocksourcethatgeneratesfTB,

whichinturncontrolstheTimeBaseinterruptperiod,canoriginatefromseveraldifferentsources,

asshownintheSystemOperatingModesection.
