Time Base Interrupt ThefunctionoftheTimeBaseInterruptistoprovideregulartimesignalintheformofaninternal interrupt.Theyarecontrolledbytheoverflowsignalsfromitstimerfunction.Whenthishappens itsinterruptrequestflag,TBFwillbeset.Toallowtheprogramtobranchtoitsinterruptvector address,theglobalinterruptenablebit,EMIandTimeBaseenablebit,TBE,mustfirstbeset.When theinterruptisenabled,thestackisnotfullandtheTimeBaseoverflow,asubroutinecalltoits vectorlocationwilltakeplace.Whentheinterruptisserviced,theinterruptrequestflag,TBF,will beautomaticallyresetandtheEMIbitwillbeclearedtodisableotherinterrupts. ThepurposeoftheTimeBaseInterruptistoprovideaninterruptsignalatfixedtimeperiods.Its clocksourceoriginatesfromtheinternalclocksourcefTB.ThisfTBinputclockpassesthrougha divider,thedivisionratioofwhichisselectedbyprogrammingtheappropriatebitsintheTBC registertoobtainlongerinterruptperiodswhosevalueranges.TheclocksourcethatgeneratesfTB, whichinturncontrolstheTimeBaseinterruptperiod,canoriginatefromseveraldifferentsources, asshownintheSystemOperatingModesection.
