temporaryinformationisstored.Thecapacityofthisdeviceis256×8.

Structure

Dividedintotwosections,thefirstoftheseisanareaofRAM,knownastheSpecialFunctionData

Memory.Herearelocatedregisterswhicharenecessaryforcorrectoperationofthedevice.Many

oftheseregisterscanbereadfromandwrittentodirectlyunderprogramcontrol,however,some

remainprotectedfromusermanipulation.

ThesecondareaofDataMemoryisknownastheGeneralPurposeDataMemory,whichisreserved

forgeneralpurposeuse.Alllocationswithinthisareaarereadandwriteaccessibleunderprogram

control.TheSpecialPurposeDataMemoryregistersareaccessibleinallbanks,withtheexception

oftheEECregisterataddress40H,whichisonlyaccessibleinBank1.Switchingbetweenthe

differentDataMemorybanksisachievedbysettingtheBankPointertothecorrectvalue.Thestart

addressoftheDataMemoryforalldevicesistheaddress00H.
