SLOW Mode to NORMAL Mode Switching
InSLOWmodethesystemclockisderivedfromfSUB.Whensystemclockisswitchedbacktothe
NORMALmodefromfSUB,theCKS2~CKS0bitsshouldbesetto"000"~"110"andthenthesystem
clockwillrespectivelybeswitchedtofH~fH/64.
However,iffHisnotusedinSLOWmodeandthusswitchedoff,itwilltakesometimetore-
oscillateandstabilisewhenswitchingtotheNORMALmodefromtheSLOWMode.Thisis
monitoredusingtheHIRCFbitintheHIRCCregister.Thetimedurationrequiredforthehighspeed
systemoscillatorstabilizationisspecifiedintheA.C.characteristics.

Entering the SLEEP Mode
ThereisonlyonewayforthedevicetoentertheSLEEPModeandthatistoexecutethe"HALT"
instructionintheapplicationprogramwiththeFHIDENandFSIDENbitinSCCregisterequal
to"0".Whenthisinstructionisexecutedundertheconditionsdescribedabove,thefollowingwill
occur:
• Thesystemclockwillbestoppedandtheapplicationprogramwillstopatthe"HALT"
instruction.
• TheDataMemorycontentsandregisterswillmaintaintheirpresentcondition.
• TheI/Oportswillmaintaintheirpresentconditions.
• Inthestatusregister,thePowerDownflagPDFwillbeset,andWDTtimeoutflagTOwillbe
cleared.
• TheWDTwillbeclearedandresumecountingastheWDTisenabled.IftheWDTisdisabled
thenWDTwillbeclearedandstopped.
