33 / 138 page  Rev. 1.10 �� De�e��e� 1�� �01� Rev. 1.10 �� De�e��e� 1�� �01� HT45F5R Charger ASSP Flash MCU HT45F5R Charger ASSP Flash MCU EEPROM Data Memory ThisdevicecontainsanareaofinternalEEPROMDataMemory.EEPROM,whichstandsfor ElectricallyErasableProgrammableReadOnlyMemory,isbyitsnatureanon-volatileformof memory,withdataretentionevenwhenitspowersupplyisremoved.Byincorporatingthiskind ofdatamemory,awholenewhostofapplicationpossibilitiesaremadeavailabletothedesigner. TheavailabilityofEEPROMstorageallowsinformationsuchasproductidentificationnumbers, calibrationvalues,specificuserdata,systemsetupdataorotherproductinformationtobestored directlywithintheproductmicrocontroller.TheprocessofreadingandwritingdatatotheEEPROM memoryhasbeenreducedtoaverytrivialaffair. EEPROM Data Memory Structure TheEEPROMDataMemorycapacityis64×8bitsforthisdevice.UnliketheProgramMemory andRAMDataMemory,theEEPROMDataMemoryisnotdirectlymappedandisthereforenot directlyaccessibleinthesamewayastheothertypesofmemory.ReadandWriteoperationstothe EEPROMarecarriedoutinsinglebyteoperationsusinganaddressregisterandadataregisterin Bank0andasinglecontrolregisterinBank1. EEPROM Registers ThreeregisterscontroltheoveralloperationoftheinternalEEPROMDataMemory.Thesearethe addressregisters,EEA,thedataregister,EEDandasinglecontrolregister,EEC.AsboththeEEA andEEDregistersarelocatedinBank0,theycanbedirectlyaccessedinthesamewayasanyother SpecialFunctionRegister.TheEECregisterhowever,beinglocatedinBank1,cannotbedirectly addresseddirectlyandcanonlybereadfromorwrittentoindirectlyusingtheMP1MemoryPointer andIndirectAddressingRegister,IAR1.BecausetheEECcontrolregisterislocatedataddress40H inBank1,theMP1MemoryPointermustfirstbesettothevalue40HandtheBankPointerregister, BP,settothevalue,01H,beforeanyoperationsontheEECregisterareexecuted.
