ThefollowingsummarisestheindividualstepsthatshouldbeexecutedinordertoimplementanA/D

conversionprocess.

• Step1

SelecttherequiredA/DconversionclockbycorrectlyprogrammingbitsSACKS2~SACKS0in

theSADC1register.

• Step2

EnabletheA/DconverterbysettingtheADCENbitintheSADC0registerto1.

• Step3

SelectwhichsignalistobeconnectedtotheinternalA/Dconverterbycorrectlyconfiguringthe

SAINS2~SAINS0bits

Selecttheexternalchannelinputtobeconverted,gotoStep4.

Selecttheinternalanalogsignaltobeconverted,gotoStep5.

IftheA/Dconverterinputsignalcomesfromtheexternalchannelinputselectingbyconfiguring

theSAINSbitfield,thecorrespondingpinsshouldbeconfiguredasA/Dconverterinputfunction

byconfiguringtherelevantpin-sharedfunctioncontrolbits.Thedesiredanalogchannelthen

shouldbeselectedbyconfiguringtheSACSbitfield.Afterthisstep,gotoStep6.

• Step5

BeforetheA/Dconverterinputsignalisselectedtocomefromtheinternalanalogsignalby

configuringtheSAINSbitfield,thecorrespondingexternalinputpinmustbeswitchedtoanon-

existedchannelinputbysettingtheSACS3~SACS0bitswithavaluefrom1001to1111.The

desiredinternalanalogsignalthencanbeselectedbyconfiguringtheSAINSbitfield.Afterthis

step,gotoStep6.

SelectthereferencevoltagesourcebyconfiguringtheSAVRS1~SAVRS0bitsintheSADC1

• Step7

SelectA/DconverteroutputdataformatbysettingtheADRFSbitintheSADC0register.

• Step8

IfA/Dconversioninterruptisused,theinterruptcontrolregistersmustbecorrectlyconfigured

toensuretheA/Dinterruptfunctionisactive.Themasterinterruptcontrolbit,EMI,andtheA/D

conversioninterruptcontrolbit,ADE,mustbothbesethighinadvance.

• Step9

TheA/DconversionprocedurecannowbeinitializedbysettingtheSTARTbitfromlowtohigh

andthenlowagain.

• Step10

IfA/Dconversionisinprogress,theADBZflagwillbesethigh.AftertheA/Dconversion

processiscomplete,theADBZflagwillgolowandthentheoutputdatacanbereadfrom

SADOHandSADOLregisters.

Note:Whencheckingfortheendoftheconversionprocess,ifthemethodofpollingtheADBZbit

intheSADC0registerisused,theinterruptenablestepabovecanbeomitted.
