Capture Input Mode

ToselectthismodebitsSTM1andSTM0intheSTMC1registershouldbesetto01respectively.

Thismodeenablesexternalsignalstocaptureandstorethepresentvalueoftheinternalcounter

andcanthereforebeusedforapplicationssuchaspulsewidthmeasurement.Theexternalsignalis

suppliedontheSTPI,whoseactiveedgecanbeeitherarisingedge,afallingedgeorbothrising

andfallingedges;theactiveedgetransitiontypeisselectedusingtheSTIO1andSTIO0bitsin

theSTMC1register.ThecounterisstartedwhentheSTONbitchangesfromlowtohighwhichis

initiatedusingtheapplicationprogram.

WhentherequirededgetransitionappearsontheSTPIthepresentvalueinthecounterwillbe

latchedintotheCCRAregistersandaSTMinterruptgenerated.Irrespectiveofwhateventsoccuron

theSTPIthecounterwillcontinuetofreerununtiltheSTONbitchangesfromhightolow.Whena

CCRPcomparematchoccursthecounterwillresetbacktozero;inthiswaytheCCRPvaluecanbe

usedtocontrolthemaximumcountervalue.WhenaCCRPcomparematchoccursfromComparator

P,aSTMinterruptwillalsobegenerated.Countingthenumberofoverflowinterruptsignalsfrom

theCCRPcanbeausefulmethodinmeasuringlongpulsewidths.TheSTIO1andSTIO0bitscan

selecttheactivetriggeredgeontheSTPItobearisingedge,fallingedgeorbothedgetypes.If

theSTIO1andSTIO0bitsarebothsethigh,thennocaptureoperationwilltakeplaceirrespective

ofwhathappensontheSTPI,howeveritmustbenotedthatthecounterwillcontinuetorun.The

STCCLRandSTDPXbitsarenotusedinthisMode.
