Fault Hierarchy Top-Level 7.3.12.2 FAULT Signaling The FAULT bus transmits a simple heartbeat pulse at a fixed frequency when enabled and unmasked faults are not present. Masking a fault does not clear a pre-existing fault condition. A device sensing a fault condition stops transmitting the heartbeat to the ICs in the chain below. The ICs sense this condition in the stack below and then assert the FAULT_N pins if configured to sense the lack of tone in COMCONFIG. FAULT_N only asserts if the UART_EN bit in COMCONFIG is set. |
