34 / 92 page  PAC1721 DS-20007088A-page 34 2026 Microchip Technology Inc. and its subsidiaries 5.6.10 BLOCK READ – SMBUS VERSION If the BYTE_COUNT bit in the SMBUS_SETTINGS register is set to 1b, Block Read results in PAC1721 sending the byte count before register data. This means that, during a transaction, the byte count is included each time a new register is read. This is shown in Table 5-11.
